Well, I’m in sorta of a slump right now, so just messing around with some new synth patches and generators I’ve come across. Once I find out everything it’s capable of, maybe something will spark my thought. Right now, however, I just have nothing in the tank. One of my generators expired, so I have to renew it before I can’t open pretty much anything I’ve made in the past year or so. I think that put a slight damper on my mood, seeing my laptop crash everytime I try and load a track. Even more, when I was about 2 hours into a song when the generator decided to quit working, and now I can’t open the track, and the file is damaged. That one was probably my breakthrough hit too!
Anyway, to parlay the fact that I have a total writer’s block at the moment, I am working on putting an…Inaugural mix together. I have a few tracks featuring a speech by Obama, and a few mash-ups of some Bush speeches that are pretty funny. I thought, since Obama is going into office soon, why not start him out with a mix? If I don’t find inspiration after that, then I have another mix planned. It will be comprised of all the heaviest, danciest songs that I can come up with. Some (casual) listeners claim that my last mix didn’t start getting good till about 20 minutes in. It’s all about build-ups though baby. Gotta lead the people into a point of no return, and ‘I’ feel that mix did just that. Brings you up, climaxs, then brings you right back down all in about 70 minutes. So, since I am a benevolent person, I will appease the naysayers and make a banging, 60 minutes plus, of the most dancible house I can muster.

2 brand new tracks (works in progress) and 1 mix i did last friday (12-05-08). the mix is by far the best i’ve done yet, so i hope you all enjoy it!

“This is not your Father’s Autobot however, i got all what you hear done in about 5 hours of straight work. that was AFTER my computer crashed twice while working on it, once before i had even saved once, so i had to start from scratch all over again, and once more when windows automatic update lagged my laptop to death. after those setbacks, i got right back on track, and banged it out. still needs a bit of work so please listen, and give some feedback. thanks!
